ActiveKB NX 2.5.4 Released

Hi Everyone. A new version of ActiveKB has been released, mainly for bug fixes but it also includes a new search mode which lets you narrow down your searches using things like +, - and quotes. The full list is available on the MySQL page describing the search mode. Give it a go and let me know if you like it better than the default FullText Mode. Anyway the full list of changes is included below.

• Fix up searching in simple mode not clearing the category selection for advanced mode correctly and paging in adv mode when restricting by category resetting which categories the search was restricted to
• Show questions in the manage list of the control panel that dont have a category association
• Make it so that SmartSearch works in the Windows template
• The windows template was missing the meta keywords and meta description placeholders
• Clean up the formatting of the ars results a little better
• Add in an id column into the manage questions list in the control panel
• Fix the edit link in the unhelpful rating emails
• Changed the quick search on the manage questions page to make it so that if you are searching for a number it will search for a question with that id
• Add a new search mode - boolean mode fulltext search. This new mode allows the use of things like quotes, + and - to fine tune your search. This new mode is now the default at install if MySQL is a new enough version (4 or greater)
• Fixed up the way the attachment directory is searched for files so that files named 0 or false do not stop other files from showing
• Hide frontpage directories from the attachments list
• Don't display PHP strict mode errors in the Control Panel
  
• Fix the url in the email to the submitted when a question is published from a submitted question when search engine friendly urls are off
• Display the question id on the manage questions page
• Show some server information on the settings page
• When updating a question, only become the author if the become author checkbox on the edit question page is ticked
• A backup config file is now created (if possible) when saving the config file
• Add labels to all the checkboxes on the settings page
• Add a title and alt to the search button on the manage settings page
• Fix the glossary popups to work properly in Safari. This also fixes it so that the cursor becomes a ? when you hover over a glossary link when viewing a question
• Fix the top links bar misalignment in Safari
• Fix for bold tags ending up in the page title when searching and then viewing a question with the search term in the question title
• When deleting a user, the user that did the deletion will become the author of any questions they had created
• The settings page has been broken up into tabs
• Try and warn the user if they are going to publish a submitted question which won't be visible if they have decided to email the submitter
