Hey all!
I'd like to announce we've released a new template for ArticleLive that is fluid (stretched). All our previous templates have been fixed width, so this tempalte adds new diversity to the template options. Below are some previews of it. It can also be view on the demo.
The version is still NX 1.7.1.1 as no code has been changed. There is just a new folder 'Fluid' folder in the templates folder. All customers can download the package from the client area.
We are working on more templates, both new fluid and fixed designs. More will be out in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

Nice. Are you planning to serve the Photohop files (psd) for the search buttons? Translating the buttons text of the other layouts buttons wasn't so hard, cause the background color was solid. But these buttons have a gradient as background. So changing the text without changing the background isn't that easy.
Would be nice if you will serve the psd-files for graphical elements of the layouts that have to be changed for localisation. Best Regards, Greg [From Mitch: Hi Greg. That's a good idea. I'll pass it onto Ed+Jordie. The PSD is fairly large so it might just be better if we offer it as a separate download from the client area.] |

Where can this be downloaded in the client area - I don't see it anywhere?
Alan [Jordie's Reply: Hi Alan! Its just in the ArticleLive package. You need to download that and there is now a directory called 'Fluid' in the templates folder.] |

A download for every PSD file for every template would be a very, very good idea. As you say, in a separate download area for all existing ALive users to access.
Modifying the templates is the one thing that makes Article Live a tough choice when comparing it to Joomla and other open source CMS products. You have the best Admin Controls and overall system, I've ever used however. I have become a big fan of the benefits we all enjoy with ALive. But, for you guys... your market reaqch would double or triple if you could make the job of modifying the templates easier with better documentation and some Step-by-Step tutorials. Better yet, since you know how to edit/modify the templates easily as the creators... Why not think about locating & training a few freelance designers( go to Elance or Rentacoder) in the proper methods... then give us the names and contact info for the designers and they would get plenty of jobs and we users would all be happy:) Cheers, Jan Jmanzer@infomailer.com |
