The IKM team are hard at work building LDAP integration and authentication into Interspire Knowledge Manager v4.5. In this post I thought I'd share a few screenshots of how the LDAP interface looks, as well as invite existing customers running LDAP on their networks to trial the 4.5 beta release over the next few weeks.
LDAP integration allows you to use your existing LDAP server (such as Microsoft Active Directory, OpenLDAP, etc) for user authentication and grouping in Interspire Knowledge Manager.
Here's the LDAP settings page in the Interspire Knowledge Manager control panel:
You can choose how tightly the integration will be, as well as whether to sync user account details across LDAP and Interspire Knowledge Manager, etc. Development will finish later this week on LDAP integration, and then we will commence both internal and external testing at customer's beta sites.
If you run LDAP on your network and are interested in beta testing Interspire Knowledge Manager v4.5, please contact us.

I'm still sceptical about the new control panel design, but this is great news. Any plans to incorporate LDAP auth. into your other products?

THANK GOD! I never thought of this feature, but now that I've heard about it, I can't wait to see it in action in our environment. Thanks so much for this heads up! We need more IKM articles on the blog. I'm so tired of having to skip through all the Shopping Cart posts...
