Interspire, a global leader in ecommerce software is experiencing unprecedented growth and seeking a technically savvy PHP Technical Support Engineer to join our customer service team.   If you’re passionate about innovative, open source technology such as PHP, MySQL, Apache, and Linux, have excellent phone and written communication skills, and thrive on resolving customer issues then we need you!   As a Technical Support Engineer you will work in a small, tightly knit team that is dedicated to providing the highest level of client service in a highly visible environment. While solid technical skills are a must-have, the right candidate will also have the soft skills needed for this highly interactive role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide email and phone-based technical support to customers on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with our development team to report and log bugs.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems remotely using FTP/SSH.
  • Provide a rapid response time to all technical support inquiries.
  • Learn quickly and use your knowledge to solve problems efficiently.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction through fast, accurate replies and fixes to problems.
  • Escalate unresolved issues as required; maintain ownership of issues through resolution.
  • Contribute to our knowledge base by authoring articles and creating video tutorials

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with PHP and MySQL.
  • Proficient with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Possesses a good understanding of the various components comprising a web application and how they work together.
  • 3+ years technical support or customer consulting experience
  • Experience with Windows and UNIX/Linux environments and administration a plus
  • Experience troubleshooting with FTP/SSH through Terminal would be preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira or other bug tracking systems a plus
  • Experience with WordPress a plus
  • Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self starter who takes initiative.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and customer relationship skills.
