I am planning to use ArticleLive as an Article Directory.
Authors will register and publish the articles without the admin manually approving each account.
Can this be done?
Can they enter the article in the form instead of uploading it as a file?

Hi,
At the moment they can, however they will be given access to your other features such as pages etc. This feature will be available in the next version of ArticleLive that I am working on.

Will authors be able to submit the article in full instead of as a file?

Yes. :) Although It will be from the control panel area, but they will not have access to anythign you dont' want them to. You can just give them acces to post their own articles and thats all, not even view or edit them, or view or edit anyone elses etc etc.

Why don't we let author submit their article in full without going into control panel?
Also, currently when you let author access the control panel, they are able to assign an article with any names listed in the drop down list.

Hi,
In the next release you can prevent users from selecting someone else as the author of an article. You will have a "Create Own Article" option and a "Create All Article" option. The later will allow them to select anyone as the author, only having the former option will restrict this.
In regards to posting fromt the front end: Its not something we can do right now. It may be an implementation in the future but most likely not the next release.

Almost every article cms allows the authors to submit their articles via a form.
Admin can choose to publish all articles without moderation or set the option to approve each article.
It's not user friendly to upload via file.
Not user friendly for the author.
And, not user friendly for the admin cos we need to cut and paste every article into the system.

Yes but its also not hacker and spammer friendly either!

Please take this as a feedback from user and admin. I am not trying to make things difficult.
There are many cms and software that allow us to submit articles not via a file and these are not hacker and spammer friendly either.
