Welcome to the July 2004 issue of
the Interspire newsletter. The word of the week for many of us
here at Interspire is 'search'. We've been quietly developing
a search engine application over the past couple of months that we
will be releasing later in the week. It's called Interspire FastFind 2004.
I've been in charge of the bulk
of development for FastFind, and it's one of the most powerful
applications that I've ever built. The best thing about FastFind,
however, is that it will be 100% free to everyone!
The initial release will be for
PHP, and it will allow you to add a fully functional search engine
to any web site. It comes complete with an installer, the familiar
Interspire "2004" look, a control panel, etc.
Crawling and indexing can be
scheduled, you can specify URL keywords to ignore when indexing,
print search reports and stats, and much, much more.
At the moment we're in the
testing stage, so if you'd like to help us out, or even just see
some screenshots of FastFind, have a look at
my latest forum post.
Before I leave, I also want to
mention that I've just gotten word from Eddie and Chris that
SendStudio 2004 will be released as beta very shortly, so make
sure you keep an eye on our forums.
