The copyright footer is a 'Content Block' that is placed onto your website on the Site Layout section of your control panel.

To remove this content block, in your control panel navigate to 'Design' then 'Website Layout'. On this page, change the drop down for 'Select a Layout to Edit' to 'Master Layout'. Then at the bottom of the layout will be a block labelled 'Footer Copyright'. You can click the pencil to edit the content of this, or click the X to delete it. After you've made your changes you'll need to click 'Save Changes'.
