Thank you for rating this answer.

I get an error about the "appropriate representation of the requested resource" when I try to edit a file

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /webedit/webedit_includes/de/editor.php could not be found on this server.

This issue is caused by module on the server called mod_security. To fix this problem upload the attached file to your webedit directory and rename it to .htaccess on the server.

On most servers this will fix the problem for you. If you see a 500 Internal Server Error when you go to webedit after installing this file, you will need to remove the file and ask your web host to disable mod_security for you.
