How are discounts applied for coupon codes?

Discounts from coupon codes are only applied to each product in the persons shopping cart. The discounts from coupon codes are not applied to shipping or handling fees. To provide free shipping, click on the Settings menu and choose the Shipping Settings option. From there you can setup free shipping options.
