How do I set what customer group guest visitors belong to?

When a customer visits your site and is not logged in, then they are considered a guest. If you have customer groups set up, and would like to define what group guest customers belong to then follow the steps below.
  1. Log in to the control panel.
  2. Click the blue Settings link at the top of the page. This will cause a menu to appear.
  3. Then click Store Settings.
  4. When the page loads you will need to click the Miscellaneous Settings tab.
  5. You should now see an area labeled Customer Group Settings. If not please scroll down a bit until you do.
  6. Next to Customer Group for Guests you should see a box that contains all the customer groups set up for the shopping cart. Select the group that you would like guest to belong to when they visit your store.
