WebEdit needs to be able to write to and edit files in the 'admin/temp' folder. This is where the record that you are logged in is saved. If you cannot save files to this folder then you will not be able to let WebEdit know that you are logged in.
If you are being logged out of your application then there is a strong chance that this is the issue that you are having.
The way to resolve this is to use an FTP application such as FileZilla and connect to your server. You will then be able to browse to your admin folder and see the temp directory with in it. From here simply right click the folder and select the option File Attributes and change the folder to have the permissions 757 or 777. Once this is done you should not have any issues with staying logged into your application.
