5000 emails by hour / What do I need to do?

Hi,

I have the Interespire, Postfix, Dovecot working very fine in a CentOS 5.5 64 bits. I do like increase the amount of emails sent to 5000 emails by hour. I try to set (master.cnf) the option smtp to, 1000, 2000, ... but it did not work. Can you help me in order to allow this scenario. Plus I add in the IEM the information that I want to do that (5000/hour), in application settings.

What sets do I need to do in main.cf and master.cf to be able to send this ammount of emalis/hour?

Memory 6144 MB (6G),
2 x 2.0 GHz Cores
MySQl connections set on the my.cn to 2048, to avoid too many connections error.

Can you help on it?

I've watched as your inquiry went unanswered and I'm surprised. So I'm answering.

An Interspire expert I'm not, but in this case that might work to your advantage. On a virtual, secured Ubuntu host, once my *default* Email Marketer installation was made to properly communicate with Linux, 5,000 e-mails per hour wasn't a problem. Cron and the Send.php file weren't playing nice.

Instead I had to have a very quick LAMP guy who runs servers using the exact OS I do, make changes which took him around an hour. He had no experience in Email Marketer. Although they didn't affect the speed of what you're talking about, he also made a tweak to PostFix and the server kernel, both which reduced the server's overhead. Maybe you could consider looking around in those if you haven't yet solved this.

My new LAMP guy is very good, but I want to work with him for a while before I pass him new clients, so his attention to me doesn't get diluted. But I did have good results hunting for LAMP people with Interspire experience at both Elance and vWorker. Go there and try them?

How many emails per hour can be sent from a machine with these specs?
the interspire check script is all ok

windows server 2008 64bit
xeon e5335 2ghz
ram 2gb

Little warning; 2GB for a Win 2008 64-bit machine with both a webserver and MySQL server on it to support IEM is not enough.

ou should have at least 4 GB of which 2GB dedicated to MySQL (that's a minimum for good production performance).
