Default captcha image does not displays in wordpress

Hi:

We own several domains all of them under LAMP also using WordPress ver 2.6.

We installed EM in one of them (site1.com).

Then created the forms, code, lists, etc... and pasted the html code generated by EM to site2.com.

All of our domains are on the same webserver.

All forms displays, but the captcha image not, no matter what we try.

Does anyone knows what are we doing wrong? or Do EM have any compatibility problems with WordPress?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Charles

Where did you paste the form code to? The CAPTCHA images are generated VIA JavaScript, so if you paste the code to a WYSIWYG editor, the editor (from WordPress) may alter the javascript.

To make sure that the CAPTCHA is displayed correctly, try disabling the WYSIWYG editor in wordpress, and paste it in.

If that still doesn't work, I can have a look at the problem... Just post a ticket for it.

Hi Hendri:

Thanks for the reply.

We pasted the code in the WYSIWIG and I believe was the reason for not displaying the captcha image correctly.

For the benefit of other WordPress users here is how we solved the issue (until we find an easier way):

To solve the problem we installed a free plugin called Hana Code which requires that you paste the code generated by EM into this plugin. Then you have to set a name for it and click on generate code. A short code is generated by the plugin and you have paste it into the page where you want the form. And now it works.

If anyone knows of an easier way please post.

Thanks,

Charles

I used the Hana Code Insert method to post the webform into a Wordpress page and the form shows up great with the captcha installed.

However, I can't get the form to process. It seems that the javascript always returns a false value for the email checker. Every time one tries to submit the form, the "Please enter your email address" message pops up, though the email address field is clearly properly filled in.

I know the form works fine in a static html page, but if anyone has any further suggestions on how to incorporated in a Wordpress page, I would appreciate the feedback.

ravensjeff,

We are using Hana Code 1.0, WordPress 2.6.5 and Email Marketing 5.5.5.
Everthing seems to work fine.

Our production version is running smoothly at www.actualyx.com

What Hana Code Insert version are you using?
What Wordpress ver are you using?

I didn't solved your problem, but you may try to contact Hana. She responded quickly to an issue we had in the past. You may contact her site here.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply.

I am using the most current version of each.

I have solved the issue by removing the email checker javascript function. Not ideal but I also don't think it is a big deal since we are using double opt in.

Thank you again for the suggestions.

Default Solution to the problme

I encountered the same but may have found a solution. First, I am using the Hana Code plug in for Wordpress. I don't know ANYTHING about JavaScript, but looking at the code for the email verification I believe there is an additional closing bracket required at the end of the script. So the code below which works for me in Wordpress shows "}}" where the original code only showed a single "}"

function CheckForm4(f) {
var email_re = /[a-z0-9!#$%&'*+\/=?^_`{|}~-]+(?:\.[a-z0-9!#$%&'*+\/=?^_`{|}~-]+)*@(?:[a-z0-9](?:[a-z0-9-]*[a-z0-9])?\.)+[a-z0-9](?:[a-z0-9-]*[a-z0-9])?/i;
if (!email_re.test(f.email.value)) {
alert("Please enter your email address.");
f.email.focus();
return false;
} }

Default Posting Form Code into WordPress Page

It looks like I'm having the same issue. But with the latest IEM, WordPress version and Hana Code as of this post date.

I've also tried the squiggly closing bracket... Captcha code not showing the formatting is a bit off. http://www.rackerkickit.com/?page_id=1063

Any other ideas???
