Default Advanced RoyalMail Module

The Royal Mail Advanced module builds on the rather basic Interspire offering and provides a much more comprehensive and fully featured shipping module. It also provides the CORRECT pricing for postage for 2010 which Interspires version does not!

Screen Cast

Purchase
http://snailsol.mybigcommerce.com/pr...ed-Module.html

Primary features:
  • Addition of Large Letter rates (including recorded services)
  • Correct 2012 rates (Interspire version is still using out of date pricing!)
  • Automated rate switch over (when appropriate)
  • Recorded delivery services added (Special Delivery, AirSure, International signed for, etc...)
  • Countries re-organised into zones according to the Royal Mails own documentation (no need to re-zone for Europe Airsure, etc..)
  • Provides ALL weights as delineated in RM's own information tables (not the rough boundaries provided in Interspires version)
  • Defaults the test system to the UK (which makes a bit more sense )
  • Corrected missing Canary Islands info & added Kosovo as country code [XK]
  • Force recorded/tracked delivery options for orders greater than £X value.
    • UK on/off and trigger order value
    • International on/off and trigger order value
    • Updated test quote system to allow proper testing.
  • ...

Version:
Stable 1.0.13

Compatibility:
Cart version 4.0.0 - 4.0.10
Cart version 5.0.0 - 5.5.4
Cart version 6.0.0 - 6.1.8

Not much point as the interface is the same as the ISC4 original... The key change is the data behind it all... i.e. the services provided.

To give a complete list it includes:
  • First Class Recorded
  • First Class
  • Second Class Recorded
  • Second Class
  • Special Delivery 1pm
  • Special Delivery 9am
  • Standard Parcels
  • European AirSure
  • European Airmail Signed For
  • European Airmail
  • International AirSure (Not Europe)
  • International AirSure Signed For (Not Europe)
  • International Surface Packets
  • International Surface Mail Signed For
The system automatically displays the appropriate options and you can select which services you want to select as per the original mod.

The data is not duplicated and is held in just two data files (Country data & Rates data) and as I said the rates are changing on 6th April 2009 so I'll have a changeover point that gives the new rates to customers from noon on the 5th automatically so you don't end up giving incorrect info and losing out.
(assuming of course that Royal Mail will publish the full rate list in advance!).

Just to note I've fixed a bug that was stopping all the recorded options being shown despite more than one being available.

This is included in the updated Beta 1
Changed file: module.royalmail.php
File revision: 26

Default Shipping Address Format

Hi,

This looks like a useful module. One thing that still needs resolving for full integration with the royal mail is the address format. We would like to use the packing slip functionality to print shipping labels but the format of the address is incorrect for royal mail. We've confirmed with the royal mail that postcode needs to be on its own and on the bottom line (unless country is specified) otherwise the letter / package will be manually sorted.

Good point... I'll find some time next weekend to sit down and see how easy that is to include/fix...

I got your PM and I'm working the problem... More information on what you're getting in terms of errors, etc... would help.

EDIT: In the absence of any additional data and having looked over the changes made in the Royalmail mod file the only change I could find was the inclusion of this function:
Code:
		public function GetTrackingLink($trackingLink = "") {
			return "http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/track?trackNumber=" . urlencode($trackingLink);
		}
I've updated my code and will upload a beta version for compatibility but unfortunately until I get the 4.0.6 code uploaded on my site I can't test to be 100% sure.

My guess is that the problem is that you've overwritten the mod' files with the ones from 4.0.6. This would definitely break the mod and possibly the original module. I'd recommend re-installing my mod' again and you'll probably find the problem is resolved.
