I've been developing a new website using v5.0.4 for two days now and I suddenly hit a brick wall. After customising the template and configuring the content types I began entering in the page content. To my horror I couldn't find a way to simply upload files to the server and link to them. I realise there is an attachment module but this is not what I need...I need the links to the attachments embedded in the page content.

Am I to expect that my client is supposed to upload/modify/delete attachments by resorting to ftp?

I took a look at tinyMCE website and I see that by default this editor comes with a pretty fancy file management system. Why is this not available with IWP? Are there immediate plans for a file management system? ... Hope so...

MCFileManager is not included with TinyMCE. It's licensed separately. This is why it is not currently included with IWP.

I just downloaded the free SwampyBrowser and integrated it with tiny_MCE...it works pretty well. If anyone's interested take a look at http://www.swampyfoot.com/index.php?...swampy_browser

Looks interesting, johnnybegood.

Jordie or Gwilym, any chance you might consider integrating something like SwampyBrowser into IWP?

Sadly this software is only free for individuals to download and use. I don't think the copyright allows other for companies to profit from it.

In any case I'm sure Interspire have plans for their own file manager system (like the image manager). Personally I don't really like the image manager because it doesn't allow users to store images in their own folder. However, I guess this is only relevant if Interspire re-implement the front-end authoring facility.
