What about restricting categories to accept only certain variations for that type of product?

seems simpler and would be widely used.

(do any of the other carts have this feature? zencart/magneto/oscommerce?)

If it is template customisations then it shouldn't have too much impact as the template changes are not over written when you upgrade.

If you are making underlying code changes then this is different and will require file modifications post upgrade (although if you document these well then it won't take too long).

I think the best answer you'll get at the moment is 'a few weeks'. This is for fixing any major bugs found in beta testing.

I think I found a bug.... Tried to use the bugtracker in the beta release but that didn't work.
On the productpages only the middle thumb zooms in. The left and right thumb don't zoom in. Is this just me or has this something to do with the size of the images? I'm using IE8 if that helps.

Anyway the new templates look way more professional and I like the new zoom function. Good job, but still missing the multi-lingual function

Cheers

Default Unsuccessful installation

I have been trying to install the 5.5 beta locally without any success. I'm running MAMP on a mac pro(10.5). The ioncube loader is working, an empty db has been created but when I get to complete the installation by clicking continue, I'm just presented with a blank screen (http://localhost:8888/admin/index.ph...unInstallation), and the db does not get populated either. Has anyone else had a similar issue. I'm really keen to test the new features prior to the production version.

Is there an upgrade path from 4.x to 5.5 ? I'd prefer to bypass 5.06.

Unfortunately, I have been able to install and access the administration area no problem but received only 404 error messages on the client side. If somebody has a quick fix please let me know otherwise I don't have the time to sort out what the trouble is.

Turn off search engine friendly URL's in the admin settings.

You can upgrade from any version of ISC to the latest (official) release. When 5.5 comes out you should have no trouble updating from 4.x - Except for template mods that you may have done.

I wish it were that easy

Just don't have time (or energy) to solve this one so close to Christmas.
