Default New Forum for Bounce Rules

Hi all,

Since sendstudio has to use a bunch of bounce rules to handle the bounced emails, we decided to create a new forum so that others can post their modified bounce rules so sendstudio can build up a better list for future versions.

So please post any new rules you had to create and I'll pop them into sendstudio and others will be able to grab them as well

I want to upgrade to SendStudio NX (I have SS 2004) but I have no idea how to tackle the bounce processing rules. Before I start reading all the posts here in the forum...is there anyone out there who has installed NX several times and could assist me with the upgrade, particularly the bounce rules? If so please email me a brief summary of your experience and your fee.

Thanks,
Terri Z

Hi Terri,

Bounce rules didn't exist in v2004 so there's nothing to upgrade in that regard.

We have a guide here:

http://www.interspire.com/sendstudio/upgrade/

Of course if you have any questions then send them through.

Ah, ok. So if I upgrade and start running NX with no bounce rules in place at the start...I'll essentially be starting from where I already am? And I can learn/add bounce rules over time?

Thanks,
Terri Z

Hi Terri,

Sendstudio comes with a lot of rules built in (we're adding more with every update).

See http://www.interspire.com/support/kb/questions/247/ for some info on how it works and http://www.interspire.com/support/kb/questions/248/ for how to add your own rules.

If you come up with a few rules please share them with us so I can add them to the next update.

Thanks, Chris. This is starting to sound less scary

I appreciate the handholding!

Peace,

Hi,

I upgraded to the latest version of SendStudio NX and just discovered my user_bounce_rules.php was overwritten so I've lost all my custom bounce rules! What did I do wrong? I didn't see any instructions about saving the bounce rules and then replacing them...

Thanks,
Terri Z

Hi Terri,

Which guide did you follow? I'll make sure it gets updated.

Did you create a backup first?

I backed up so I was able to restore them -- luckily I figured out the user rules were gone before I got rid of the backup!

I used these instructions: http://www.interspire.com/support/kb...+NX+version%3F

Thanks in advance for updating them!

Peace,
Terri Z
