Question Multiple SMTP Question

Hi everyone. I have a question about multiple SMTP sending. We have 4 in house smtp servers and do not need a fancy GUI and tracking. We also do not need more speed or more threads. Our issue is to much mail coming from a single IP address, where we have a block of them that we could be using right now. We also do not want to pay $600 for an unsupported plug in.

Can IEM be modified to just rotate through a hard coded smtp server list?

Much like this:

PHP Code:
<?php

$j
'10';
$i '1';
for (
$x 0$x $j$x++) {
    if (
$i '4') { $i '1'; }

    switch (
$i) {
        case
:

$smtp1 'mx1.domain.com';

// SEND MAIL HERE TO MX1

echo "Your smtp server is $smtp1 \n";
            break;
        case
:

$smtp2 'mx2.domain.com';

// SEND MAIL HERE TO MX2

echo "Your smtp server is $smtp2 \n";
            break;
        case
:

$smtp3 'mx3.domain.com';

// SEND MAIL HERE TO MX3

echo "Your smtp server is $smtp3 \n";
            break;
        default :

$smtp4 'mx4.domain.com';

// SEND MAIL HERE TO MX4

echo "Your smtp server is $smtp4 \n";
    }

$i++;
}
?>

Don't do this in your software. Use either a good MTA which can handle this or put a loadbalancer in between the webserver and SMTP Server. A good opensource project is Zen Loadbalancer.

Excellent advice. I ended up using Pen, that Zen is based on. It is a really simple load balancer and did all that we needed.

Thank you.
