Interspire Email Marketer v8.7.2 brings new proxy header support, updated RSS feeds, enhanced IPv6 support, better performance, and many other improvements and bug fixes.
RSS Feed Enhancement
RSS feeds are now disabled by default to prevent potential unintended view to archived newsletters. Administrators must explicitly enable them in security settings.
Additionally, the RSS feed queries have been updated to eliminate duplicate entries when newsletters are sent multiple times or to multiple lists. The RSS feed will now properly display emoji characters.
Proxy Header Support
If your installation is behind a reverse proxy or a load balancer, you can now configure the system to use the X-Forwarded-For header for tracking the source IP addresses. This feature is disabled by default and must be configured in your configuration file.
Security Warning: Only enable this setting if you have a properly configured trusted reverse proxy in front of your Interspire instance. Enabling this on a publicly accessible server without a proxy will allow IP address spoofing.
Speed Improvements
The open tracking SQLs have been optimized to reduce the number of database queries required to track opens. The bounce processing has been updated to minimize the number of times messages are processed for bounces.
IPv6 Support
All the database tables have been updated to support IPv6 addresses. IP validation has been updated to support IPv6 addresses.
