How can I move Interspire Website Publisher from one folder to another?

If your copy of Interspire Website Publisher is located in a sub-folder (e.g. http://www.example.com/websitepublisher/) and you want to move it to another sub-folder (e.g. http://www.example.com/articles/ or any other sub-folder) use the instructions in Section 1.

If you want to move your site from a sub-folder (e.g. http://www.example.com/websitepublisher/) to the base directory (e.g. http://www.example.com/) use the instructions in Section 2.

Please note, for both sections you do NOT need to change any MySQL details.

Section 1 Instructions
If your copy of Interspire Website Publisher is located in a sub-folder (e.g. http://www.example.com/websitepublisher/) and you want to move it to another sub-folder (e.g. http://www.example.com/articles/ or any other sub-folder).
  1. Login to your website via FTP (contact your host for FTP details if you don't have them)
  2. Locate the folder Interspire Website Publisher is contained in. In your FTP program locate the rename command and rename the folder to your new desired folder name.
  3. Login to your Interspire Website Publisher control panel at your new URL location. e.g. If you renamed your old folder from 'websitepublisher' to 'articles', you can now login at http://www.example.com/articles/admin
  4. Go to your settings page and change you Site URL and Application Path options to the new folder. They should now look like:
    Site URL: http://www.example.com/articles
Application Path: /articles/ (make sure it has two slashes)
  5. If you inserted any images/flash into articles or any other content types via the WYSIWYG editor box it will have their paths stored in the article. If you find any images you will need to edit the article or content type to delete and reinsert the images.
Section 2 Instructions
If you want to move your site from a sub-folder (e.g. http://www.example.com/websitepublisher/) to the base directory (e.g. http://www.example.com/)
  1. Login to your website via FTP (contact your host for FTP details if you don't have them)
  2. Locate the folder Interspire Website Publisher is contained in and navigate to it. Select all the files and folders in this directory and locate the 'move' command in your FTP program. In the path section remove the 'websitepublisher' folder and it should move all the files to your base directory. Contact support if you require assistance with this step.
  3. Login to your Interspire Website Publisher control panel at your new URL location. e.g. http://www.example.com/admin
  4. Go to your settings page and change you Site URL and Application Path options to the new folder. They should now look like:
    Site URL: http://www.example.com
Application Path: / (just a single slash)
  5. If you inserted any images/flash into articles or any other content types via the WYSIWYG editor box it will have their paths stored in the article. If you find any images you will need to edit the article or content type to delete and reinsert the images.
