Creating and Editing Emails in Interspire
Interspire Email Marketer includes multiple editors to help you create and customize email content based on your workflow and preferences.
These editors are used to build and modify newsletters, email templates, autoresponders, and other content types. Each editor is accompanied by a separate plain-text input box, allowing you to provide both HTML and text versions of your email for improved deliverability.
Available Editors
Interspire provides three email editors:

These editors are available when creating:
- Newsletters
- Email templates
- Autoresponders
In most other cases, say for exmple when creating dynamic content tags, the TinyMCE editor is used.
Choosing the Right Editor
When creating a new email or template, you’ll be prompted to select one of the available editors. Your choice depends on your workflow:
- TinyMCE: Ideal for the WYSIWYG word processor style editor, and working with raw HTML or importing templates from external builders (e.g., Litmus, Stripo).
- Unlayer: Best for drag-and-drop visual design with structured blocks.
- BuilderJS: Recommended for users who want a modern visual builder that’s fully self-hosted unlike Unlayer that is remotely loaded.
⚠️ Editor selection is permanent per item. Once a newsletter, template, or autoresponder is created with an editor, you cannot change the editor for that item.
Plain-Text Version
Regardless of which editor you choose, every email can include a plain-text version as well. This version is critical for:
- Improving deliverability
- Supporting legacy or security-focused email clients
- Providing a fallback when HTML cannot be rendered

Email Preheader Text v8.7.2
Version 8.7.2 includes improved preheader text handling for better email client compatibility, particularly with Microsoft Outlook and mobile email clients.
What is Preheader Text?
Preheader text (also called “preview text”) is the snippet of text that appears after the subject line in email inboxes. It provides recipients with a preview of your email content before they open it, significantly impacting open rates.
Improvements in v8.7.2
The preheader implementation has been enhanced to:
- Better Outlook compatibility - Improved rendering in Microsoft Outlook desktop and mobile versions
- Spacer optimization - Adds proper spacing elements to prevent email body content from appearing in the preview
Best Practices for Preheader Text
To make the most of preheader text in your emails:
- Keep it concise - Most email clients display 40-130 characters
- Complement your subject line - Don’t repeat it; expand on the message
- Include a call-to-action - Give recipients a reason to open
- Test across clients - Preview text displays differently across email clients
